How should the BadFish Piranha Powder be applied to the working surface of a motorcycle engine cylinder? And how often should it be re-applied?
ReplyDeleteYou put it on a cloth and rub it in. It's just like graphite, meaning the metal will look like you rubbed a pencil on it. The fuel will no doubt wash it off but it can't hurt. I use it on the piston skirt and the pin hole, plus cam lobes, valve guides, bearings etc. You can use it on both parts that make contact but if one is harder then you should only apply it to the softer one, and polish the harder one best you can. Ideally you sand the part first so the rough surface can hold more dry lube. You can mix it with the oil too but not if you have a wet clutch sharing the same oil b/c it will likely make the clutches slip. You can mix it with grease for bearings, chain or whatever. Also extremely useful on tons of stuff around the house, car, guns, locks etc etc. Also, google DFL-1 which is a thicker bake on coating that's better for piston skirts and certain other parts. With DFL-1 I blast the part with 80 Garnet so it can hold much more lube and it bonds to it.
